What is Cupping?
Cupping Therapy is an ancient form of Chinese therapy to help relieve pain, and it dates back thousands of years. People choose cupping therapy for many reasons; including help with pain, inflammation, migraines, increase blood flow, and over all relaxation and well being. Cupping therapy helps to circulate blood flow to promote muscle healing.
The Cupping Process
Cupping is a therapeutic method in which a jar or a cup is attached in strategic areas to the skin surface with negative pressure by the use of heat.
The skin inside the cup becomes reddened due to the congestion of blood flow. The local congestion though the negative pressure serves to promote circulation flow of blood and qi. It helps draw out and eliminate pathogenic factors such as wind, cold, damp and heat. Cupping also moves Qi and Blood and opens the pores of the skin, to expel pathogens through the skin itself.

Any marks after treatment?
You may have cupping marks after a session depending on the length and number of cups used in the therapy. Skin should look normal again within 3 to 10 days.
