What is Moxibustion?
Moxibustion is a therapeutic method that burns combustible materials or applys some drug-compress or drug-plaster over the acupoint or affected area to produce a warm-hot stimulation to the patient (Acupuncturist will remove the moxibustion before all of it is burned).
Benefits of Moxibustion?
The moxibustion is applied widely, which may be employed for either acute diseases, heart syndromes, diseases of the channel, and/or exterior syndromes.
Moxibustion can also promote blood circulation to cause an analgetic effect, to relieve depression of qi to remove obstruction, to recuperate yang and rescue the patient from collapse (resurrect), to reinforce middle-jiao and replenish qi, & to prevent diseases and keep the body healthy.
In clinical practice, moxibustion is applied in treatment of arthraglia due to wind-cold-dampness, dysmenorrheal, abdominal pain and diarrhea, prolapsed, visceroptosis, enuresis, cold, hernia, collapse, and shock, as well as carbuncle at the first stage or with untractable ulcers.
